MTV VMAs return to Los Angeles with Taylor Swift and Madonna performances
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET from Los Angeles.
Red carpet arrivals and hosts
Sienna Spiro, Stella Lefty, Chloe Bailey and other stars appeared on the red carpet. Snoop Dogg is hosting the event this year. The show marks the first time the awards have returned to Los Angeles since 2017.
Major musical performances scheduled
Madonna will perform for the first time at the show in more than two decades. Taylor Swift will premiere her new music video Patient Zero and receive an inaugural award. Kacey Musgraves is set to perform a tribute to Dolly Parton.
Tributes and special awards
RAYE, Sombr and Teddy Swims will honor George Michael with a performance. Nirvana will receive the Video Vanguard Award 34 years after their first appearance in 1992. Several artists including LISA and GENER8ION are debuting new songs on television.
