Max Wolf Friedlich returns to stage with new version of The Holes
Playwright Max Wolf Friedlich prepares to stage a revised version of his play The Holes at the Wild Project in Manhattan's East Village.

Original eighth-grade assignment becomes production
The one-act piece began as an English class project when Friedlich was in eighth grade. His teacher encouraged him to pursue writing after reading the work about barroom cruising. The show is now in previews at the Wild Project venue.
Production team reunites for premiere
The current staging brings together Friedlich with director Michael Herwitz and producer-dramaturg Hannah Getts. Robert Pattinson executive produces the work through his Icki Eneo Arlo company. The play previously sold out the SoHo Playhouse before moving to Broadway.
