Maria Grazia Chiuri presents Fendi collection inspired by Raffaella Carrà
Designer Maria Grazia Chiuri unveiled her second ready-to-wear season for Fendi in Rome during Milan fashion week, using the Italian pop legend Raffaella Carrà as her muse.
Chiuri returns to Rome
The designer moved from Paris back to her native city to work at the brand. She stated that being in Rome makes her feel young again and allows her to wear less of a uniform.
Carrà influences the show
Chiuri described Carrà as an incredible feminist whose relationship with clothes was very free. The collection featured diaphanous 1970s dresses with trailing hems and visible lace bras on the catwalk.
Men wear unbuttoned shirts
Male models wore shirts that were unbuttoned to the navel as part of the design. The show also included embroidered waistcoats and vintage fur stoles alongside the other garments.
