Maison Margiela presented its Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear and menswear collection on September 29 during Paris Fashion Week.
Womenswear features deconstructed domestic items
The collection included dresses adorned with crushed silverware and floral fabrics that resemble laminated tablecloths. A preview video showed a silver teapot being crushed to tease the centerpiece of the line. Several gowns featured draped silhouettes with tops bursting open to reveal underlayers.
Menswear remains highly conventional
The menswear looks followed formal conventions without apparent interventions or deconstruction. Opening looks included a gray suit and another outfit consisting of blue jeans, a khaki vest, and a charcoal leather coat. The Creative Director presented this collection only one week after showing his final Diesel line in Milan.
