Water usage concerns raised

One correspondent from London stated he showers once a week between daily washes with soap and water. He noted that global fresh water use currently exceeds replenishment rates. Another writer from Chesterfield said his showers last no more than two or three minutes.

Skin health claims made

The London resident claimed his skin remains perfectly healthy without commercial body wash products. The Chesterfield writer added that his skin at age 89 is quite healthy as he does not remove natural oils. Both men stated they do not smell of anything other than naturally human scents.

Industry profit criticism offered

A third contributor argued that double cleansing provides no benefit to consumers but generates more money for manufacturers. This view was expressed alongside concerns about the environmental friendliness of cleanser run-off from showers.
