Early life and dancing passion

Jones grew up in Finchley where he pursued ballet, tap, and Scottish country dancing as a child. He kept these activities secret because he feared ridicule from peers at St Mary's secondary school in Hendon.

Bullying and family tragedy

The judge faced three years of bullying which coincided with the death of his grandfather from a heart attack. He witnessed his grandfather fall down the stairs, an event that deeply affected him during this difficult period.

Development of OCD habits

Jones developed obsessive-compulsive disorder to create a sense of control after experiencing these traumatic events. His bedroom became an empty studio because he arranged all items at 90 degree angles for order.
