Issey Miyake unveils SS27 Figure of Ma collection at Paris Fashion Week
Satoshi Kondo presented Issey Miyake's Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled Figure of Ma, during the all-black show at the Judo Institute in Paris.

Design concept focuses on negative space
The collection interprets the Japanese aesthetic concept of Ma as the air between fabric and the body. Satoshi Kondo debuted these sculptural pieces with an opening sequence featuring a single dancer in beige pleats. The garments are designed to shift shape with the wearer's movement rather than confining them.
Garments feature airy volumes and rounded shapes
Voluminous ultra-light outerwear catches the wind while vibrant signature pleats define the silhouette. Ballooning trench coats in purple and black appear alongside torso-molded plaster gauze-inspired tops. Mesh knit capris and a collaboration with Camper footwear complete the lineup.
