Hong Kong jewellery maker quits finance job to run custom brand
Koyo Song left her role at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong in July 2026 to focus on her custom jewellery business, Benalor.
Career change and partnership
Song worked as a sales associate while running the company part-time before resigning. Her boyfriend Avi Benita also quit his hedge fund position to join her. The couple now manages the business together without corporate employment.
Product range and pricing
Benalor sells rings, bracelets, necklaces and other items with prices between HK$3,000 and HK$20,000. Customers can customise pieces for free or order original designs made to specification.
