Original layout problems

The one-bedroom unit in Pok Fu Lam had a wall blocking the kitchen entrance. A route to the bedroom forced residents to walk between two sofas. The reading nook received very little natural light.

Design process details

Rachel Tong did not visit the property until just before the project finished. Designer Nicole Cromwell of Nicole Cromwell Interior Design managed the concept without her input. The renovation took ten months to complete the 1,000 square foot space.

Final open plan result

The dark interior was transformed into an open-plan design with plenty of light. The large private terrace remains part of the new stylish layout. The couple kept the location because it suited their two large dogs.
