Young collectors lead spending growth

The average expenditure for Gen Z collectors is now double that of millennials and boomers. This group outspent their peers in virtually every market segment during the first half of 2026 alone.

High value purchases rise sharply

Almost half of the buyers for works over one million dollars were Gen Z collectors in 2025. The study projects a similar proportion will appear among high-value purchasers in 2026.

Technology aids discovery and research

Collectors increasingly use social media, apps, and AI tools to find new art. The survey describes the attitude toward these new technologies as broadly positive within the collecting space.
