Frank Aghuno presents Fruché Lagos Spring 2027 collection in Nigeria
Frank Aghuno held the first international showcase for his brand Fruché at Berlin Fashion Week before returning to Lagos for the Spring 2027 presentation.
Designer returns home after Berlin win
Aghuno travelled from Berlin to Nigeria following a victory at the contemporary prize. He wanted to present the collection directly to his Nigerian audience while riding high from that success.
Collection embraces natural imperfections
The designs feature literal imperfections such as holes in carved wood beads and dyeing variations. Aghuno stated that quirks exist everywhere, ranging from styled looks to twisted knotted pieces.
Fabrics sourced locally across Nigeria
Cotton used for the garments was sourced from Katsina and milled within the country. The collection includes gingham patterns made with aso oke, beaded, and adire techniques.
