Curtain design changes with movement

The artist created a 70-foot-wide piece for the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion that functions as both mural and moving image. As the curtain rises before every performance, its visual content shifts to reflect the unique nature of the space. This mechanism ensures the artwork cannot be replicated in any other location or museum setting.

Season opening scheduled for October

The company president and CEO Christopher Koelsch invited the Cuban-born creator to develop this specific project for the upcoming season. The artist expressed interest in how art alters audience experience of a place during live performances. Opening night is set for October 17 with the first show featuring two children absorbed in their own worlds.
