Filmmaker restores historic footage

David Greaves returned to original film reels with his daughter Liani Greaves after restoration work was completed. The project fulfills a dream expressed by William Greaves, who originally arranged the event in August 1972. His late wife Louise Archambault Greaves led the restoration efforts before her passing.

Guest list included legends

The curated gathering brought together surviving leaders of the Harlem Renaissance for conversation and debate. Cameras captured intimate details of relationships among artists, writers, musicians, and dancers from that era. The documentary serves as a testament to Black intellectualism through these recorded interactions.
