Designers used bio-based fabrics

The Material Innovation Challenge required each finalist to use at least two sustainable materials from a recommended list. This partnership with Humane World for Animals focused on reimagining brands through the lens of bio-based fabrics. The group spent several months reexamining production processes and discovering new materials before this presentation.

Judges evaluated final collections

A panel including Thom Browne, Aurora James, and Eva Chen reviewed the presentations alongside the designers chosen muses. The finalists had previously met in June to begin their collaborative work on these specific challenges. Each designer worked independently while adhering to the strict material requirements set for the event.
