Point Of Law wins 2026 Melbourne Cup at Flemington
Trainer Ciaron Maher's Point Of Law won the 2026 Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday.

Finishing order for all runners
Point Of Law finished first with jockey Ethan Brown riding the horse to victory. Zahrann placed second and Juja Kibo took third in a trifecta for Maher. Royal Supremacy came fifth after leading by about 20 lengths earlier in the race.
Trainer achieves historic trifecta
Ciaron Maher became the first trainer to secure a trifecta in this event with his three horses in the top three. The Joseph O'Brien-trained Sons And Lovers finished fourth while other stablemates Shockletz and Mr Monaco placed seventh and seventeenth respectively.
Jockey celebrates dream victory
Ethan Brown described the win as a dream come true after nearly dying in a fall three years ago. The horse was owned by King Charles until an Australian syndicate purchased him in August.
