Pakistan hockey team beats Oman to reach Asian Games semi-finals
The Pakistan men's hockey squad defeated Oman 7-2 on Monday at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan to secure a spot in the Asian Games semi-finals.

Sufyan Khan scored two goals from penalty corners while Rana Waheed completed a hat-trick during the game. Ghazanfar Ali and Ammad Butt also found the net for the hosts who led 2-0 after the first quarter. Oman managed to score twice but could not overcome the four-goal cushion Pakistan held at half-time.
Group stage performance
This victory improved Pakistan's pool record to four wins from five matches in their campaign. The team had previously beaten Thailand, Uzbekistan and China before suffering a single defeat against Malaysia. Both squash teams also won their matches while the men's volleyball side registered a straight-games victory on the same day.
