The Pakistan Hockey Federation has asked the Asian Hockey Federation to relocate the 2026 Men's Asian Champions Trophy out of India or move all Pakistan matches to a neutral venue.

Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani confirmed that the federation formally approached the continental body on Wednesday. Officials stated the request aims to ensure a safe environment for players and staff given current relations between the two nations. The Pakistan team remains committed to participating in the event regardless of the venue arrangement.
India refuses to alter tournament plans
Hockey India secretary general Bhola Nath Singh said there would be no change to the scheduled location in Punjab. He added that Pakistan must travel to India if it wishes to play in the competition. Reports indicate the Indian side will not entertain any proposal to shift the event away from its planned cities.
Tournament dates and locations remain set
The men's Asian Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin on October 27 with matches in Mohali. Pakistan has previously faced similar requests regarding venue changes during past editions of the tournament. The Asian Hockey Federation will review the situation but India has already rejected the proposal.
