Repeated errors occur despite reviews

Officials admitted that wrong anthems were broadcast three times this week. The mayor stated that operations were reviewed after mistakes happened during the previous Asian Games, yet similar errors occurred again. He described the recurrence as unacceptable even after pledges to prevent such incidents.

Specific cases of mistaken music

One incident involved broadcasting the Iranian anthem for a men's para taekwondo win instead of Taiwan's. Another error played the Iranian anthem again during a women's competition where Mongolia won gold. A third mistake broadcast South Korean music briefly when China should have been honoured.

Corrections made after pointing out

The Mongolian delegation identified an error and officials stopped the incorrect music immediately. They played the correct anthem after receiving the proper recording from the delegation. Officials noted that one mistake was discovered only after the ceremony concluded.
