Murat Gassiev unsure if Fury Joshua fight is for his WBA belt
WBA heavyweight champion Murat Gassiev says he does not know if the upcoming Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua bout on 11 December in Cardiff will be for his title.

Gassiev lacks clear information
Murat Gassiev told ESPN that he has received no messages or papers regarding the status of his belt. He stated at a press conference that he only sees a Ring Magazine belt associated with the upcoming fight. The fighter confirmed he is not a manager, promoter, or lawyer and therefore lacks clear information about the situation.
WBA title status unclear
Gassiev was upgraded to Super champion in July after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the position. Reports indicate the WBA intends to sanction the Fury versus Joshua fight for the Super title despite Gassiev holding it. The organization lists him as the reigning champion on its website while ranking Fury number two and Joshua number three.
Gassiev calls situation strange
The Russian boxer described the decision to use his belt for another fight as interesting and a little bit strange. He believes he should be made the mandatory challenger for the winner of the Fury versus Joshua match. Gassiev noted that he wakes up one day as Super champion and the next as regular champion without anger.
