Wilbon announces break on social media

The veteran host posted a message on X regarding his decision to pause his duties. He stated that friends and family noticed concerning signs over the last few years. Wilbon clarified that his condition is unrelated to alcohol or gambling habits.

Last appearance occurred in late October

His final segment on the program aired on October 26 before the show marked its twenty-fifth anniversary. The duo has worked together since they met as colleagues at The Washington Post decades ago. Wilbon expressed gratitude for colleague support during this time away from broadcasting.

Future return remains uncertain

The commentator admitted he does not know how long the break will last. He hopes to recover quickly and resume hosting debates with Tony Kornheiser soon. The network has not yet confirmed a specific date for his comeback.
