Max Verstappen secures second pole in a week at Singapore Grand Prix
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen took pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday after beating Ferrari teammates Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in qualifying.

Verstappen dominates final qualifying runs
The four-time champion set a time on his first lap that he did not need to improve upon. Charles Leclerc finished second with a gap of 0.054 seconds after his faster second run. Lewis Hamilton qualified third but could not better his initial position in the final session.
Mercedes and McLaren finish ahead
Kimi Antonelli took fourth place on the grid while teammate George Russell will start from the back due to a penalty. Oscar Piastri qualified seventh as the only other driver from the top four teams to improve his time. Alpine, Racing Bulls, and others completed the top ten positions.
Sprint victory precedes main race
Verstappen won the earlier sprint race before securing pole for the main event. George Russell crashed out of the lead during that sprint session. The driver described the result as one he really wanted.
