Kylian Mbappe scores twice to help Real Madrid beat Barcelona
Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-1 in the La Liga Clasico on Sunday at Camp Nou under Jose Mourinho.
Mbappe finishes late victory
Kylian Mbappe scored his second goal with three minutes remaining to secure a 2-1 win for Real Madrid. The French striker had already opened the scoring before halftime, but Barcelona equalized through Raphinha after the break. This result marked the first domestic defeat of the campaign for the Catalan club.
Mourinho returns to Camp Nou
Jose Mourinho led Real Madrid into the stadium as he returned to manage the team in this fixture. The manager stated his squad played with good concentration and courage against a high-pressing opponent. Barcelona failed to win any game since returning to this venue a year ago.
Barca struggle continues
The match ended the Champions League leaders nine-game winning streak in the league season. Barcelona had previously won six of the seven previous Clasicos since Hansi Flick arrived as manager. The team suffered a second consecutive loss after their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week.
