James Anderson will not receive a new contract from Lancashire
Lancashire have decided not to offer James Anderson a new contract for the 2027 season.
Contract decision announced
The county opted against renewing the deal with the 44-year-old bowler. This move ends his tenure at Old Trafford after he joined the club in 2000.
Recent performance record
Anderson captained Lancashire during Division Two last season and took 50 wickets in the County Championship. He finished next to bottom of the table despite his personal success with the ball.
Future career status
It is not known whether Anderson will retire or seek another county opportunity. The club is currently undergoing a review of its cricket operations led by interim chair Dame Sarah Storey.
