India beat Afghanistan to take two-nil lead in T20 series

India defeated Afghanistan by seven wickets at New Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday to secure a 2-0 lead in the three-match Twenty20 series.

Afghanistan innings collapse under pressure

Afghanistan were put in to bat and slipped to 159-8 before India began their chase. Early wickets fell quickly as captain Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal dismissed for low scores. Azmatullah Omarzai provided resistance with a counter-attacking 64 off 44 balls before the bowlers resumed control.

India chase target with ease

Sanju Samson struck 57 off 22 balls to lead the opening pair in the pursuit. Abhishek Sharma contributed 39 runs while Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma remained unbeaten to guide the team home. India chased down a victory target of 160 with five overs remaining after dismissing Afghanistan.
