Harry Brook century helps England beat Sri Lanka in Southampton

England captain Harry Brook scored an unbeaten century as his team defeated Sri Lanka by 119 runs in the first T20 match at Southampton.

Brook leads England to victory

Harry Brook remained not out on 114 off 42 balls to inspire England. He hit six boundaries, including six that crossed the boundary rope. His innings helped England post a total of 254-4 in their first T20 match since appointing Kevin Pietersen as mentor.

Buttler adds to the total

Jos Buttler contributed an unbeaten 80 off 44 balls during the innings. Brook and Buttler shared a partnership of 128 runs from 60 balls together. This stand came after debutant Aneurin Donald scored 12 runs before falling.

Sri Lanka fall short in chase

Sri Lanka were dismissed for 135 runs while chasing the target. Sonny Baker took three wickets for 12 runs in his four overs. England won their first T20 match of the series at Southampton.
