Gael Monfils officially retired from professional tennis after ITIA confirmation
The International Tennis Integrity Agency confirmed on Wednesday that Gael Monfils has been listed as a retired player since October 5.

Retirement status and timeline details
Monfils had previously indicated he would leave the sport at the end of the 2026 season. The agency rules require him to remain on this list for six months before returning to competition. He must still make himself available for random doping tests during this period.
Final match and tournament history
The former world number six played his last official match in early September against Learner Tien at the US Open. During that event he defeated Adolfo Daniel Vallejo to become one of three men aged 40 or over to win a match at Flushing Meadow in the Open era.
Career achievements and titles won
Monfils is the winner of 13 ATP Tour singles titles throughout his professional career. His last trophy came in Auckland in January 2025 after he first lifted a trophy in Poland in 2005.
