Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Portugal camp after coach drops him for Denmark match

Player departs training facility

Ronaldo posted a statement on Instagram saying he decided to leave after speaking with the Portuguese Football Federation president. The veteran striker had been scheduled to train at the Parken stadium before departing abruptly. He promised to explain his reasons for leaving in due course.

Coach denies team conflict

Head coach Jorge Jesus told reporters earlier that there was no incident between him and the captain. Jesus acknowledged Ronaldo would not start the upcoming Nations League clash against Denmark but insisted he might have entered later. The manager stated that players are unhappy when they warm up without playing.

Public reaction intensifies

Reports indicate Ronaldo spent the entire match on the bench during the previous game against Norway. His sister expressed anger over the situation on social media platforms. The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed preparations for the next fixtures would continue with the remaining squad.
