Canada draw ends England Red Roses winning streak in Exeter
The Red Roses ended their 39-Test winning streak with a 26-26 draw against Canada at Sandy Park in Exeter on September 19.
First half scoring surge
Claudia Moloney-MacDonald and Daleaka Menin each scored two tries to put the sides level at 19-19 before halftime. Hannah Botterman and Lizzie Gibson added further points for England while Olivia Apps scored for Canada in the opening period.
Final quarter deadlock
Bryony Field crossed for England but Canadian forwards prevented a decisive break near the final whistle. A ruck turnover by the home team denied them a winning try as the match finished level at 26-26.
Canadian confidence grows
Canada avoided defeat on English soil for the first time to build momentum ahead of upcoming Tests in Toronto and Ottawa. The Canadian side will now look forward to hosting England in two further WXV series matches this autumn.
