British and Irish Lions Women play France in historic Cardiff fixture
The British and Irish Lions Women will face France at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday, 27 August.
Historic match before New Zealand tour
This game marks the first-ever fixture for the Lions Women's team. The match takes place in the Welsh capital ahead of their inaugural tour to New Zealand. Jo Yapp will coach the side that includes players from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Opponent ranked fourth globally
The French squad is currently ranked fourth in the world. The Lions Women hope for a strong send-off in front of a large crowd. This occasion aims to grow the game and leave a legacy for future teams.
Tour schedule confirmed for 2027
The team will travel to New Zealand for a five-match tour starting later that year. They face a Black Ferns XV in Whangarei before the first Test against New Zealand on 11 September. The series concludes with a final match in Christchurch on 25 September.
