Arsenal appeal against Max Dowman red card in Carabao Cup loss
Arsenal plan to appeal against the straight red card shown to Max Dowman during their Carabao Cup match against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday.
Appeal process and deadline
The club must submit documents for the appeal by 1pm on Thursday. A decision is expected before Arsenal face Liverpool on Sunday. Former referee Dermot Gallagher believes the appeal will fail due to the aggression shown.
Match outcome and suspension
Fleetwood Town beat Arsenal 5-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. Dowman faces a three-match suspension for violent conduct involving contact with Harrison Neal. This dismissal marks his second red card this month following an incident while playing for England's Under-19s.
