Scientists name new snake species after Guns N Roses guitarist Slash

New species confirmed by genetic tests

Advanced DNA analysis and physical scale counts verified that this animal is a distinct species previously unknown to science. The snake measures approximately 71 centimeters in length and displays a reddish-brown coloration across its body. Sara Ruane from the Field Museum led the team that published these findings in the journal Zootaxa.

The researchers selected this name because Slash has maintained a deep passion for herpetology since his early childhood years.
