This activity appears in the frontal lobes, which are responsible for conscious effort rather than automatic responses.

Dogs resist temptation like humans do

The study suggests that dogs invoke willpower similar to a human giving up smoking instead of freezing like a mouse. Increased frontal theta waves indicate the involvement of these brain regions during the act of restraint. The findings imply that stopping behavior in dogs involves mechanisms comparable to those found in people.
