Modified bone-marrow cells stop fractures in osteoporosis trial

Ten older women with osteoporosis received an infusion of their own modified bone-marrow cells in a small clinical trial. Before the treatment, participants suffered fractures every year or two, but after receiving the therapy, breaks from low-impact trauma occurred only once per decade on average.
