Meta pauses Muse sharing feature after researchers find private AI chat links online
Meta has paused a feature allowing users to share Muse AI conversations after security researchers discovered thousands of public links exposing private data.

Security firm finds exposed links
Researchers at the security firm Claroc identified more than 6,800 shared conversation URLs through public DNS records. The company built these web addresses using conversation titles and random IDs that allowed anyone to reconstruct the links easily.
Private details became accessible
The exposed information included a marketing company revenue report, a workplace calendar, and a small-business loan application. Other leaked items featured meeting times with an AI lab and partial bank fraud alert account details.
Meta reviews link discovery
A Muse spokesperson stated the company paused functionality while reviewing the report and considering changes to how links are discovered. Meta will assess whether adjustments are needed to prevent future exposure of these specific artifacts.
