India renewable energy output briefly exceeded coal generation this July

Renewable capacity grows rapidly
India's installed renewable energy capacity has reached 300GW, representing 54% of the total 552GW grid. Coal plants still generate 70% of electricity on average because they run for more hours than solar or wind sources.
