Poor weather affects soil quality

Months of high temperatures and lack of rain have raised concerns about the future of the fungus. Antonio Degiacomi stated that dry and compacted soils produced smaller truffles this season. The entire month of October was affected by these conditions, leading to poor production.

Recent rains offer some relief

More recent rains have improved conditions for the current harvest period. This weather shift is helping large truffles emerge after a slow start. Hunters are now seeing better results following the precipitation.
