China overtakes US as top workplace for elite AI researchers
A new study by Carnegie China finds that China employed more leading artificial intelligence researchers than the United States last year.
Study shows talent shift
The report titled Who is ahead in the global AI talent race was released this week. It states that China held 41 per cent of the world's leading researchers tracked by the study last year. The United States accounted for 34 per cent of that same group during the same period.
Previous rankings reversed
This result marks a change from 2022 when the United States held 46 per cent compared with China's 27 per cent. The think tank Carnegie China released these findings to track changes in where top-tier talent works.
