Australian property auction clearance rate falls to lowest level since July

Property data firm Cotality reported that the combined capital auction clearance rate dropped to 45 per cent five weeks into the spring season.

Market index closes lower

The S&P/ASX 200 closed down 0.77 per cent at 8,660 points. The benchmark index crossed below its 20-day moving average during the trading session.

Specific stocks underperform

WEEBIT NANO LTD fell by 10.96 per cent while LOVISA HOLDINGS LIMITED dropped 8.68 per cent. These two companies were identified as the bottom performers within the index.

Global commodity prices rise

Oil prices increased to $US102.45 per barrel on concerns regarding the Middle East conflict. Spot gold also rose by 0.5 per cent to reach $US4,131 per ounce.
