Saudi Arabia intercepts Houthi missiles while France pledges aid to oil port

This port serves as a main alternative route for Saudi oil exports when shipments through the Strait of Hormuz are disrupted. The strikes occurred while fighting continued between Houthis and Riyadh-backed government forces in Yemen.

Claims regarding southern attacks

A Houthi spokesman later claimed the group attacked military sites in Jazan province using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones. There was no immediate confirmation from Saudi Arabia regarding these specific claims about operations rooms or command centres. Civil defence authorities had previously warned of potential danger in Jazan on Wednesday.
