Petrol price drops to Rs398.30

The state reduced the retail price of petrol by Re0.66 per litre. This adjustment brings the cost down to Rs398.30 per litre effective Saturday. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority issued the revised ex-depot prices on Friday.

Diesel rate increases slightly

High-speed diesel prices rose by Re0.52 per litre to reach Rs396.24. These new rates apply from October 10 through October 12, 2026. The Petroleum Division stated global market movements drove this specific change.

Previous price hike noted

Officials previously increased petrol prices by Rs2.31 and diesel by Re0.78 on Thursday. Current adjustments follow that earlier upward trajectory in fuel costs. The government continues to levy existing taxes on these petroleum products.
