Sohail Afridi remains in protective custody while corruption evidence is compiled
Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Samar Haroon Bilour stated on Friday that evidence of financial corruption against former chief minister Sohail Afridi is being compiled in Peshawar.

Evidence compilation process underway
The provincial administration is collecting data regarding alleged embezzlement involving billions of rupees. Legal representatives and barristers associated with the matter are involved in this process. A formal charge sheet will be presented once the evidence collection is complete.
Political reactions to the probe
Bilour described recent comments by JUI-F emir Maulana Fazlur Rahman as reflecting political dissatisfaction rather than factual disagreement. The administration noted that corruption allegations dating from the previous government also require proper investigation. Officials warned that their patience should not be mistaken for weakness.
