Sohail Afridi brother files petition seeking CM recovery in Peshawar High Court
Muhammad Amir filed a constitutional petition on Tuesday at the Peshawar High Court to trace his brother Sohail Afridi and examine the legality of his detention.

Petition seeks immediate recovery order
The petitioner alleged that armed men took away the chief minister from the Chief Minister's House while police officers were present. He requested the court to direct authorities to produce Afridi before the bench immediately. The filing claims the detention violates fundamental human rights and lacks lawful authority.
Court asked for incident details
The petition asks the Capital City Police Officer to submit complete details of the alleged abduction and security arrangements at the time. It also seeks an explanation regarding who is holding Afridi and under what legal basis. An independent investigation into the identification of those involved has been requested by the petitioner.
Government previously confirmed custody
Officials stated on October 12 that Afridi and some cabinet members were in preventative custody rather than abducted. The state minister for interior noted that cases pending against individuals would lead to charges while others would be released. The brother filed the petition through senior counsel Bashir Khan Wazir to challenge the legality of the current situation.
