Punjab housing scheme sees millions register for loans and home construction
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reviewed the progress of the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar programme in Lahore on Wednesday.
Registration numbers reach new heights
More than 1.7 million people have registered on the official portal for the initiative. Over 225,000 loans have been disbursed to eligible families under the current phase of the project.
Construction milestones and recovery rates
Officials reported that 128,718 houses are finished while another 62,600 units are nearing completion. The programme recorded a loan recovery rate of 97.6 percent with billions recovered in instalments.
New applications invited for expansion
The chief minister approved fresh applications and directed authorities to meet all set targets. A separate initiative called Mehfooz Chhat has also completed its application process for 3,055 applicants.
