Punjab crime rates drop 63 percent in September compared to last year

Regional crime decreases vary

Lahore region recorded the highest decrease of 78 percent in overall crime. Faisalabad followed with a 68 percent drop, while Sahiwal saw a 66 percent reduction. Other regions including Multan and Gujranwala also reported significant declines ranging from 58 to 59 percent.

Specific crime types fall

House dacoity cases fell by 81 percent during this period. Highway dacoity incidents dropped 72 percent, robbery decreased 71 percent, and motorcycle snatching fell 67 percent. Motorcycle theft saw a decrease of up to 56 percent according to the department spokesperson.
