Punjab CM sets seven-day deadline for Suthra Punjab cleanliness plan
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif held a meeting in Lahore on Monday to set a seven-day deadline for implementing the province-wide Suthra Punjab sanitation programme.

Contractor performance and removal orders
Officials must remove private companies that fail to meet minimum performance standards within one week. The chief minister directed that contractors scoring below 50 percent in any tehsil face immediate termination of their contracts. Companies delivering less than 80 percent performance will receive formal warnings instead of immediate removal.
Workforce payment and machinery availability
Authorities are ordered to ensure the availability of required sanitation workers and machinery across the province within seven days. Outstanding dues owed to sanitation workers must be recovered directly from defaulting companies so employees do not suffer financial loss. The meeting agreed on a legal mechanism to guarantee timely salary payments for all staff.
Micro-plan and progress reporting requirements
Officials must submit a comprehensive micro-plan detailing cleanliness strategies for every part of Punjab by next week. A complete progress report covering the entire programme is also required from authorities within the same timeframe. The review included assessments of waste collection systems and field monitoring arrangements.
