Punjab CM launches fourth phase of Green Tractor Scheme
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the fourth phase of the Green Tractor Scheme in Lahore on Wednesday.
Digital balloting selects winners
The chief minister pressed a button to conduct the digital selection process. Masood Khan, son of Lal Khan from Attock, became the first successful applicant under this phase. The portal for the fifth phase has also been opened for new applications.
Subsidy amounts and totals
Ten thousand tractors with 50 to 65 horsepower will receive a subsidy of Rs750,000 each. Another 9,500 high-powered units ranging from 75 to 125 horsepower will get Rs1 million per machine. The government has allocated Rs17.6 billion for the entire programme this fiscal year.
Previous distribution records
Officials stated that 24,000 tractors have already been provided to farmers under the scheme previously. More than 213,637 farmers applied for the initiative before verification by relevant authorities.
