Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurates electric bus service in Multan
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched an electric bus project in Multan on Thursday.
Ceremony route and welcome
The leader boarded a vehicle at Agro Mall on Shujaabad Road before traveling to Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture. Thousands of people gathered along Old Shujaabad Road to greet her arrival. Rose petals were showered on the bus while children carried flowers and pictures.
Project launch details
Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar briefed the crowd about the initiative during the event. The digital launch formally introduced modern transport facilities for citizens in the city. Forty-five electric buses will operate on specific routes including hospitals and universities.
Future expansion plans
Additional services will connect Vehari Chowk to Qasim Bela and Ghanta Ghar to Qadirpur Raan. The first phase involves 160 buses across the Multan Division with a total of 205 vehicles planned.
