Pozzolan extraction begins for Diamer Basha Dam main structure
Officials in Diamer started extracting pozzolan material for the Diamer Basha Dam project on Friday.
Material processing starts now
The extracted pozzolan will be processed for use in Roller Compacted Concrete for the Main Dam. Following this processing, RCC placement will formally begin at the site.
Leadership oversight confirmed
The activity follows directions from Chairman WAPDA Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed and Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Arshad Majeed Mohmand. Project management and district administration completed all requisite arrangements for the event.
Officials visit construction site
Commissioner Diamer-Astore Division Azim Ullah, CEO Engr Dr Nazakat Hussain and Project Director Engr Arif Ali visited Gini to mark the occasion. Representatives of consultants, contractors, local elders and ulema were also present at the location.
