Pakistani troops have been in Saudi Arabia for decades
Director General ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed Pakistani forces are already stationed in Saudi Arabia during an interview on Wednesday.

Longstanding military presence confirmed
Lt Gen Chaudhry told CNN that Pakistani troops have been present in the kingdom for decades across multiple domains. He stated these forces exist independently of the recent emergency meeting held in Riyadh on Monday.
Trilateral alliance context explained
The spokesperson noted the Makkah Defence Alliance builds on sustained diplomatic, political, and military relationships between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye. This existing partnership allows for rapid deployment of agreed capabilities under the Strategic Political and Defence Committee.
Deployment decision details
The three nations agreed to put collective defence commitments into effect immediately following their inaugural committee meeting. Officials said future deployments will follow approved arrangements while respecting each country's national laws.
