Pakistan Navy submarine fires missile in maiden live test
The Pakistan Navy's newly inducted Hangor-class submarine conducted its first live weapon firing in the North Arabian Sea on Sunday.
Missile strike hits target
The vessel launched an anti-ship cruise missile that engaged a designated target with precision at extended range. The Inter-Services Public Relations stated the submarine successfully struck the goal during the exercise.
Leadership witnesses the test
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf watched the firing from the sea and praised the vessel's combat power. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the navy leadership on this successful milestone.
Fleet modernisation continues
This event marks the operationalisation of PNS/M Hangor, which is the first of eight submarines acquired from China. The induction strengthens Pakistan's undersea warfare capabilities and maintains credible deterrence at sea.
